Kay and George Moss provided the venue, a lot of the food, and even the staff (thanks Chris!) for the Summer barbecue this year.  England’s weather isn’t renowned for its predictability, and the forecast for the weekend had been very mixed, with a significant chance of the rain hosing down.

In the event, the rain stayed off, and sunburn was a much more serious risk.  Hence the sun-shades and hats.

One or two cautious individuals came wearing jackets and pullovers, but shorts and T-shirts were more appropriate as the afternoon warmed up.

Grub included burgers, chicken drumsticks, sausages, freshly baked rolls, and numerous salads, followed by baked bananas with Nutella and/or strawberries and cream.  It didn’t look as though anyone went home hungry.

As the pictures show, the Moss’s garden proved to be perfect for the venue, with enough of a gap between the barbecues and the seating to prevent serious smoke inhalation.

If you weren’t able to make it along, you missed out!  Hopefully we’ll see you at the next Society of Friends of Montargis social event.
