Crowborough Friends of Montargis

Start a friendship which will last a lifetime

This is now historic as the Society has had to close. (See end)

Welcome to the website of the Society of the Friends of Montargis. Here you can find information about the Society, and the beautiful town of Montargis.

Crowborough and Montargis have been twinned since 1966, and the Society exists to promote the ongoing relationship between the two towns. Each year society members exchange five day visits with their counterparts in France, “La Société des Amis de Crowborough.”

In 2016 the twinning’s 50th Anniversary was celebrated in style in Crowborough with a weekend packed with special events, where new friendships were sparked and old ones rekindled.

New members are always welcome to join the society.. and you don’t need to speak French, in fact most of us don’t!

Everyone is welcome to join the society whether you’re on your own, a family, old or young.  Under five or over eighty… it’s never to early or late to join the fun!

One thing is for sure… whether it’s a social gathering or an official exchange event, the hospitality of all hosts is second to none, and you wont go hungry!

The Society of Friends of Montargis has now closed and all records are kept by the Historical Society. Crowborough will continue to be twinned with Montargis so do visit this pretty town if you are passing. Maybe one day a new group of people will be able to start up the society.(Through  Crowborough Town Council)
